Great article.  I would encourage your readers to look to online collaboration services such as ProjectSpaces.com for solutions.  I may be a little biased, but I truly feel that ProjectSpaces is a standout product offering the three main things you talked about above: Sharing files, scheduling a meeting, and tracking activity (and more).  Best of all is how easy it is to use.
