Gil good points but many E2.0 niche and perhaps challenger players have morphed into SCRM to try and survive the platform consolidation ;)</description>

I apologize for being so late in responding to this excellent post.  I have been buried working on a social CRM panel with Geoffrey Moore as the moderator.  I hope you can attend by the way.

I have yet to see such a concise explanation of the differences between social CRM and E2.0 from the perspective you take.  I think the point about integration with existing systems is spot on.  I was at a company that built a unified communications solution and when we did an integration with Outlook the adoption took off like a rocket.
