Policies

The contents of this blog are my personal opinions.  I do not get paid to blog about the topics I cover.  I write about vendors and I offer advisory services to vendors. If I cover a product from a vendor that I do business with, I will disclose that in the blog.   Here is my CMP.ly (comply) link which declares my level of compliance .

Clients: I will not disclose the name of my clients without their permission.  My reviews do not indicate blanket-statement recommendations or endorsements for a product or vendor.  I simply state my opinions based on the information I gather and offer a place for dialog about topics that my readers find interesting.  You have to do your own homework before you decide to invest in a product.  You are welcome to hire me to help you do that homework with you. I am currently not open for business, as I have a full time job and cannot engage in a conflict if interest situation.  I just blog for fun.

Vendors : Vendors are welcome to brief me about their products. I no longer take vendor briefings. However, I do not promise a blog post as a result of a briefing.  It really depends on if I find the product/story worth sharing, if I understand the message, and if I have time to blog about it.  Remember, I’m not getting paid to do this. Vendors can hire me to write something they will use for marketing purposes. Our financial relationship will be disclosed, but not the terms of the arrangement.  I will disclose any sponsorships or financial relationships related to the products I sell via this blog. In other words — I’m going to operate as you would expect I should. I’m not here to trick anyone, just to share some thoughts and to do some honest business.

Blog posts: I usually keep each post to 1000 words or less and I allow for comments.  I’ll delete any comments that I consider to be spam, or that ruin the reading experience for my readers.  I will edit posts and comments for clarity and typos.  But I will allow legitimate comments through, even those that disagree with me.  Please, just don’t be disagreeable.  You can link to this blog and lift excerpts from it to quote (with attribution)  in your blogs.  If you would like a reprint of a blog post to use in your sales or marketing material, please contact me directly and we’ll discuss an arrangement.

Agreements: I respect the non-disclosure and non-compete agreements that I am bound to.  I will only provide services to clients that allow me to comply with these agreements.  Although I’m an independent analyst, I am not providing comparable services, nor using the data or methodology that I learned while employed by an analyst firm.  Please contact me directly at gil [at] gilyehuda.com to discuss my specific service offerings and prices.
